Size approx. 40 x 60 cms. All done in a range of Derwent Graphic pencils.
It's taken me almost 10 months to complete this.

The drawing depicts Persephone descending into Hades. On the stairs is the kneeling figure of her mother, Demeter (added because I was having hellish problems drawing the stairs). The whole drawing arose out of me wanting to challenge myself to draw violins and descending women.
One of the pots is based upon a pomegranate.


All the figures (apart from one) were based upon images supplied by :iconalicelefaystock:
The remaining figure is mainly invented, but the face and raised hand came from a photo by :iconangellesfleshstock:
