Happy New Year to all of my friends and watchers
It's nice to receive praise out of the blue and flattering often when you receive a note, sometimes a polite note asking permission to use your art somewhere. We all receive requests like this and some of them are very strange. I once was asked to redo my 'Ophelia' drawing, but this time with legs ... so that the guy asking could tile his bathroom floor with a complete image based on my adapted artwork (no mention of paying me anything or thinking he might need permission). I declined his request.
OK, the juxtaposition doesn't quite work, but imagine some legs tagged onto the drawing
I was asked by a child if she may use my 'Little Red Riding Hood' image as a cover on a school project, and I aggreed to that. I'm not all mean
I've agreed to specific images of mine to be incuded on themed websites (e.g. websites celebrating angels in art). I've found my work used without permission on educational websites teaching their students classical literature, but seeing my images alongside Gustave Dore is kind of flattering too. So I've turned a blind eye on most of those occasions.
I had a note in my inbox today asking permission to post my 'Rose Garden' image on facebook. I have an account there showcasing some of my art and explained over several noted replies how they could just click 'share' or 'like' to have my work appear in their page. They didn't seem to get it and thought uploading my image themselves would be the only way. I've pointed out this will be theft and I'll report any images of mine posted on facebook by others. Our correspondence was more polite than that ... but it resulted in the deviant removing 'Rose Garden' from their favourites on DA, which made me smile at their pettiness. I suppose I have to give them credit for asking in the first place and for not just helping themselves to my images.
I'm sorry for neglecting my inbox and for being behind on commenting on your works, or responding to your comments. I work nights for a living and I'm not raking in much money from my art (which surprises people). It would be lovely to be able to concentrate on my art full-time and to make a living from it. It's a disturbing thought that somewhere thieves are making more money out of my art than I am .... grrrrrrr. Still, mustn't complain, I've got my health and feel rather content with life.
I would just like to mention two groups which I'm part of in an admin capacity:

My DA portfolio [link]
I also have a Society6 account here [link]
Some of my available prints:- (Go on, you know you want to buy them)
For more of my available prints, please see [link]

My 'Little Red Riding Hood' deviation is available as a print through `ArtistsForCharity & through my own account, it will be restored exclusively as print to Artistsforcharity once someone begins managing that account again. I've contacted several people about that neglected charity account, but as yet, nobody has bothered to reply.
